A Travel Journal
I finally finished this journal for my mother-in-law last night, and not before time since we drove up to see them today. I have had the bits and pieces since about March to make this. They're heading off to Canada and Alaska next month and more than likely will we not get up to see them again before they go. My MIL loves to collect and keep all the tickets and brochures you seem to gather when you travel. So inspired by Leanne's beautiful journals I made up a blank one for her to complete.
I made lots of pocket pages as well as plain pages using Leanne's instructions and the girls helped by sticking on the stickers. We're scrapbooking novices here - but I made another journal for a friend's 4oth which I forgot to take photographs of - but anyway I used rubbons for that one - much prefer the look than I do of stickers.

The journal is wonderful! I love the simplicity of it, so that the happy new owner can make it her own in time. What a great gift! Thanks so much for stopping by my blog! Yours is lovely...and love all the scrumptious fabrics from your last post. I'm off to see your shop now! Happy Weekend! :o)
Great job Sarah - I really want to make some for pressies as well. Have put it on my 'to-do' list!
That is a lovely journal and a great gift. It's not 'cutsey'... just perfect. You'll have to take photos of the journal when they return from the trip.

Hi Sarah - love the journal! Glad to have inspired you. Let me tell you that your suggestion to do them as gifts inspired me and I made a journal for my Mum and Dad for their recent to Warrnambool. Mum has half completed it and was really thrilled that I made it for her - so thanks!
It looks so good. What a great present idea. Glad I got here from blogging carnival..
I love your travel journal. It is a great gift. Well done.
Very nice (and beautiful colors)...It's a clever idea...I like to save those things too but things get stashed (and destroyed) in gloveboxes and backpacks too often...
You are so clever Sarah! Well done.
What a thoughtful gift!
